Notes

Independent information only. entei-cl is an editorial project about mobile networks in Chile. It is not a mobile operator, reseller, installer, or regulator, and it does not sell plans, devices, or connectivity services.

About

A desk in Antofagasta, writing about the radio that already surrounds it

entei-cl publishes plain-language notes on Chilean mobile networks: how a session is carried, why some places feel fast, and which measurements are worth reading. The site is a reference, not a shop window.

What the site is

entei-cl is an independent informational project. The pages describe technical and geographic facts that affect everyday mobile use in Chile: spectrum blocks, site design, fiber backhaul, rural distance, and the submarine systems that carry traffic abroad.

The writing stays with mechanisms. If a claim cannot be checked against public regulation, operator engineering practice, or a measurement a reader can repeat, it is left out.

What the site is not

  • It is not a mobile network operator or a virtual operator.
  • It is not a store, booking desk, or payment page.
  • It is not affiliated with SUBTEL or with any named commercial network.
  • It does not rank “best” plans, promise coverage, or certify installations.

Those boundaries exist so the site can stay useful and so advertising destinations stay honest about the publisher.

A short public timeline we use as context

  1. 2010s

LTE became the default urban layer. Coverage-oriented bands, including 700 MHz after the digital television transition, extended the useful footprint beyond city cores.

  2. 2021

Chile assigned mid-band 5G spectrum in the 3.5 GHz range through a public tender run by the telecommunications authority. That assignment is one reason 5G labels started appearing on urban cells.

  3. 2020s

Operators continued to fiberize backhaul on the Pan-American corridor and to add Pacific cable capacity. Speed observations in large cities often reflect that transport layer as much as the radio generation printed on a handset.

The timeline is background, not a claim that every town received the same upgrades on the same date.

How we work

Notes are revised when public facts change: new band assignments, new landing systems, or clearer measurement practice. Dates sit on each article. Corrections can be sent to [email protected].

We do not invent staff biographies, awards, or reader testimonials. The contact block is the same on every page because it is the actual publisher address.

Why the desk is in Antofagasta

The Norte Grande is a useful place to write about Chilean mobile networks because the constraints are visible. Sites stand on open ground. Microwave hops are long. Towns sit far apart. A session that feels ordinary on a coastal avenue can thin on a transverse road without any change of operator logo.

That does not make the north “the real Chile” and the capital a footnote. It makes the difference between a plaza and a kilometer marker hard to ignore. The notes use that difference as a teaching tool, then apply the same chain — radio, load, backhaul, cache, ocean — to denser communes.

The publisher address is Av. Antonio Rendic 3718, 1240000 Antofagasta. It is a postal and contact address for an editorial project. It is not a shop, a radio compound, or a customer desk.

How a note is structured

01

Mechanism first

Each article names a hop or a constraint: camping, a band, a map legend, a dish, a landing. Marketing labels come later, if they come at all.

02

A check you can repeat

Where a claim can be tested from a sidewalk — indoor versus outdoor, domestic versus overseas — the page says so. Hidden dialer menus are left out.

03

A date, then a revision

Publication and last revision sit on the page. A correction to a public fact updates the date. Send those to [email protected].

Independence, in practice

Independence here means the text is not written to move a plan, a handset, or an installation contract. Public names — a generation, a band, a regulator — appear as context. They are not partners and not targets.

The project is not affiliated with Entel, SUBTEL, or any mobile operator. The brand entei-cl is an editorial name. If you arrived from an advertisement, you should find the same publisher, the same address, and the same refusal to sell access.

What we will not invent

  • Staff biographies that do not correspond to a real desk.
  • Awards, certificates, or “official” seals.
  • Reader testimonials or star ratings.
  • A live coverage board or a promised megabit figure.

Those omissions keep the destination honest. They also keep the notes usable after a software update or a new landing system.

Questions people send

Can you tell me which company is faster?
No. The notes explain ceilings that any branded network still meets: spectrum, load, transport, cache, ocean. A ranking would be a different publication, and this one refuses it.
Do you install or survey sites?
No. There is no fieldwork for hire and no equipment counter. The contact addresses are for the text.
Is this an official Chilean source?
No. Official assignments and maps belong to public authorities and to the companies that operate radios. We point at mechanisms; we do not replace those sources.
Why is the site in English?
The public pages are written in English so the destination matches an English-language informational offer. Mail may still be sent in Spanish. The address and phone remain Chilean.

Where the notes sit

A publisher, not a radio compound

The Antofagasta address is for correspondence. It is not a tower yard and not a shop. If you need a mechanism, open a note. If you need a correction, write to [email protected]. If you need a plan, you are on the wrong host.
